CURRENT EXHIBITION

RETROACTIVE MIX

December 14 to January 10, 2025

Email henry@saladeditions.com to make a viewing appointment.

RETROACTIVE MIX is a compilation of Jazzmen Lee-Johnson creative meanderings and current works in process exploring how events, systems, and ethos that took effect in the past, continue to deeply impact us today and shape our futures.

Celebrate and explore on December 14th from 3-5pm at The Wurks Gallery (72 Tingley Street, Providence, RI) for a walkthrough of music, prints, memorial, books, furniture, food, and more.

RETROACTIVE MIX features Lee-Johnson's CONTRABAND series, which explores how the industry of slavery laid the blueprint for drug crimes, curb culture, and mass incarceration in Black communities.

CONTRABAND was made possible in part through support from the Interlace Grant Fund, a regranting partner of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. As well as support from the Fellowships for Creative and Performing Artists and Writers at the American Antiquarian Society.
